A New Zealand ex-pat has sustained head injuries after he crashed his car into a tree before overturning his vehicle in Pattaya just before noon today (June 7ばんざい) according to rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation.

Emergency responders from the foundation were notified of the accident at 11:00 A.M. in Soi Khao Talo 9, Nongprue.

They and The Pattaya News reporters arrived at the scene to find the overturned blue car lying on its side, heavily damaged, in a field next to Soi Khao Talo 9 that was covered with brush.

The injured man was named to the press by Pattaya police as Mr. Milan “Mate” Paunovic, 79, a New Zealand national, who was stuck inside the car after the accident. Rescue workers utilized a variety of tools to free the injured man from his vehicle and he was immediately taken to a local hospital for medical assistance.

At this stage, Pattaya police believe that Mr. Paunovic might have fainted based on evidence collected so far related to personal health conditions before crashing into a tree.

Mr. Paunovic remained in a hospital for treatment of his injuries as of press time.
